Hello, everyone! It has been a while since my last entry, but I had my partial exams during this week, so I didn’t have a lot of time to post an entry. I must say that I’m exhausted since I had to do not only exams, but also partial projects that certain professors left until the end. Anyways, I have just finished my Math project as I had already told you, but I would like to talk about certain issues or just give a reflection about the whole project, which I found very interesting.
Thanks to the WebQuest, I learned many things about Forensic Science. However, there is one thing I learned the most, which is that details and Math are always together. Through the Webquest I learned that in order to solve the case, I had to consider every single detail, especially, when I was using Math because if I didn’t have the correct temperature, I wouldn’t get all the operations correctly. Therefore, when you are trying to solve any mathematical problem, you need to consider the most minimum aspect that is presented to you in order to get the correct answer, and in this case, find the time of death and the guilty person.
I really liked all the things this WebQuest taught me that I would really like it to be used in other subjects. You may ask, why? Well, the thing is that through the WebQuest a student doesn’t only learn just how to apply the knowledge he or she learned during class, but also he or she learns more things about other subjects and some extra information that he or she may not know and that will allow him or her to know more about the applications of technology and/or Math in a specific topic, just like what happened with this WebQuest.
When I began the project, I thought everything was perfect and that the project didn’t need anything to be corrected, but now, I think that the only thing that was wrong in the project was the duration of the video because when I was watching the videos with my friends, I felt that the stories didn’t have many drama because they had to be very short and if a story doesn’t have too much drama, it isn’t very interesting at all. Therefore, the teacher should let the students make it of 15 minutes since 10 minutes doesn’t allow them to create a very good and entertaining story. Out of this, everything else is just perfect.
In conclusion, the project and the WebQuest were great because they allowed me to learn more things about Forensic Science and to apply Math in a real life situation. I wish the WebQuest would be used in other subjects since it turned out to be very interesting.
Well, looks like this is it for today since I’m pretty tired from the conferences and activities I had today at school and which were pretty funny and interesting. I really had a good time and learned a lot of things not only about Maseca, but also about presentation and myself. See you! Have a nice weekend!

Gracias por tus comentarios y por la sugerencia de modificar el tiempo. Sin embargo pienso que es necesario saber cuál es el objetivo y la importancia de cada escena y con ello planear el tiempo necesario para cumplir con ello.
Pero lo tomaré en cuenta y tal vez divida la generación en dos para aumentar el tiempo, ya que sería muy pesado subirle un 50% más al tiempo de presentación de los videos.
Tus comentarios han sido muy útiles pues te considero un joven muy maduro y reflexivo. Y no sólo los relacionados con mi materia, sino con las demás áreas. Leer tus quejas de otras materias, me hace pensar mejor en lo que yo hago y tratar de evitar caer en los mismos errores.
Es difícil mantener el interés de los alumnos por una materia tan poco popular como las matemáticas, y por lo mismo trato de hacer cosas diferentes, pero no te voy a mentir, sería mucho más cómodo darla en la forma tradicional, y tendría más tiempo para mi familia e hijo. Pero por supuesto, que no tendría la recompensa de saber que les va bien con las bases que llevan de mate.
Estoy segura Gabriel que no tendrás problemas en la carrera; espero que la decisión de qué estudiar no haya sido una pesadilla para ti, porque en cualquier cosa que estudies tendrás éxito.
Te digo lo que les dije a tus amigochos, NO LOS OLVIDES, y si es posible elige a uno de ellos como compadre o comadre, de esta manera siempre los tendrás cerca.
